Breakfast for Mom

It is Sunday morning. Today is Mom’s birthday. Jack wants to make a special breakfast for her.

Jack gets up early and goes into the kitchen. His little sister, Lily, wants to help him.

“Let’s make eggs and toast!” Jack says.

Lily puts some bread in the toaster. Jack asks Dad to help him cook the eggs.

Then Lily washes some strawberries and puts them on a plate. Jack pours a glass of orange juice.

“Everything is ready!” Lily says happily.

The children put the breakfast on a tray. They also make a birthday card for Mom.

At eight o’clock, they take the tray to Mom’s bedroom.

“Happy birthday, Mom!” they say together.

Mom looks at the breakfast and smiles.

“Wow! Did you make all this for me?” she asks.

“Yes! Dad helped us with the eggs,” Jack says.

Mom gives them a big hug.

“This is the best birthday breakfast ever!” she says.
