A Day Without the Internet
Reading Passage
On Sunday morning, Ethan woke up and reached for his phone. He wanted to watch some videos, but the internet was not working. He tried again, but the videos still wouldn’t play.
Ethan went downstairs and asked his mom for help. She told him that the internet would probably be down all day. Ethan felt bored because he usually spent his weekends playing online games and watching videos.
After breakfast, his mom suggested going outside. At first, Ethan didn’t want to go, but he finally agreed. They rode their bikes to a nearby park and played basketball together.
In the afternoon, Ethan helped his mom make dinner. He washed the vegetables and learned how to cook chicken. They talked and laughed while preparing the food.
That evening, the internet started working again. But Ethan didn’t pick up his phone right away. He realized that he could have fun without being online.
