对话
Plans for the Future
A: Have you thought about where you want to be five years from now?
B: Honestly, I’m still trying to figure that out. I know I want to stay in education, but I’m not sure which path I want to take yet.
A: What options are you considering?
B: I could work as a private tutor, teach at an international school, or try to get a teaching position at a public school. They all have their pros and cons.
A: Tutoring would probably give you more flexibility, especially if you ever wanted to change your schedule or try something different.
B: That’s what I like about it, but the income can be unpredictable. I’m starting to think more seriously about financial planning and having a stable income.
A: Then a public school might be worth considering. The salary may not be the highest, but you would probably have better job security and benefits.
B: That’s true. International schools can pay more, though, and I think I might prefer the work environment there.
A: You should also think about career growth. Which option would give you more opportunities to move up or take on different roles later?
B: Exactly. That’s why I’m finding career planning so difficult. I want stability, but I also want enough flexibility to change direction if something better comes along.
A: If stability and a steady income are your top priorities, I think a public school would probably be the safest choice. It is about as close as you can get to a secure job for life.
B: That makes sense. I probably need to look at the salary, benefits, work environment, and opportunities for promotion before I make a decision.
