I’ll be asking you a lot of questions just to keep the conversation going. But keep in mind that this is just a casual conversation. Don’t treat it like a Q&A just because I keep asking questions. You don’t have to just answer my questions. If something comes to mind, feel free to bring it up. And if there’s anything you’re curious about, feel free to ask me questions too.
I’ve started trying to exercise for at least half an hour every day, alternating between walking and running. But I’m having a hard time sticking to it. I tend to make excuses without even realizing it, either to skip a day or take a break from the routine.
I’ve always had a bad habit of procrastinating. That’s probably the biggest challenge I need to overcome if I want to successfully stick to this routine and turn it into a long-term habit.
I walk for a while, then run for a while, and just keep alternating between the two.
I alternate between walking and running.
I walk for a bit, then run for a bit, and keep switching back and forth between the two.
Let’s start with some casual conversation to warm up.
Let’s start with some casual conversation to get you speaking.
Let’s start with a little conversation practice.
Let’s start with a few simple questions to get warmed up.
Let’s start with some casual conversation to warm up.,很自然,也很符合美国老师一对一口语课的语感。
Let’s start with a quick chat to warm up.
Let’s start with a little chat to get warmed up.
Let’s have a quick chat before we get started.
How’s your day going?、Did you sleep well last night?、Are you tired today?、Have you been busy today?
What were you doing before class?、Did you just get home?、Have you eaten yet?、What did you have for dinner?
What’s the weather like today?、Is it hot over there today?、Has it been raining a lot lately?,然后继续追问 Do you like this kind of weather?
How was school today?、How’s work been lately?、Did anything interesting happen today?、What have you been working on recently?
What did you do over the weekend?、Do you have any plans for this weekend?、Are you going anywhere?、Anything fun planned for tomorrow?
What did you have for lunch today?、Do you cook much?、What have you been eating lately?、Is there anything you’ve been craving recently?
Have you watched anything good lately?、What kind of music have you been listening to?、Are you watching any shows right now?、Have you seen any good movies recently?
What do you usually do in your free time?、Are you into sports?、Do you play any video games?、What do you usually do to relax?
Do you use TikTok much?、What apps do you use the most?、Have you seen anything interesting online lately?、Do you spend much time on social media?
你可以直接问:Anything interesting happen this week? 或者 What’s something you did this week?
What did you buy?、Where did you go?、Who did you go with?、Was it crowded?、Did you get anything good?
Today / Weekend / Food / Work or School / Entertainment / Plans / Something New。
What kind of backgrounds do your students come from?
What kind of backgrounds do your students come from? Like, what countries are they from, and what languages do they speak?
Why do students from different countries want to learn Chinese?
Do you have any questions before we wrap up?
Any questions before we wrap up?
I’d say my accent is more American.
My spoken English leans more toward an American accent.
I’d say my accent is more American.
Do you have any questions before we wrap up?
Any questions before we wrap up?
Crank the AC up
Crank the AC up.
Can you crank the AC up a little?
Crank up the AC.
crank up the AC 比 crank the AC up 更常见
Turn the AC down.
Crank the AC up.:把空调猛开一点(比 turn up 更口语、更有力度)。
Turn the temperature down.:把设定温度调低(房间会变得更冷)。
The power went out.
The power is back.
Do you usually wake up naturally, or do you need an alarm to wake you up every morning?
Do you usually wake up on your own, or does your alarm wake you up?
Do you wake up on your own, or do you rely on an alarm?
wake up on your own 是美国人非常常用的表达,意思就是“自然醒,不靠别人或闹钟叫醒”;rely on an alarm 则表示“依赖闹钟起床”,也非常自然。
I’ll give you lots of chances to speak English today.
I’ll give you lots of chances to express yourself in English today.
From what you sent me, it seems like you’re most concerned about speaking and communicating in English.
Based on the information you sent me, it seems like you’re most concerned about speaking and communicating in English.
Based on what you shared with me, it seems like speaking English is your biggest concern right now.
Based on the texts you sent me, it seems like you’re most concerned about speaking and communicating in English.
From the texts you sent me, it seems like you’re most concerned about speaking and communicating in English.
Based on the messages you sent me, it seems like you’re most concerned about speaking and communicating in English.
In today’s class, we’re going to practice speaking.
In today’s lesson
In today’s lesson, we’ll learn how to use the present perfect.
If you don’t want to tell me about your actual daily routine, you can just make one up.
Set your alarm for seven.
Set your alarm for 7 a.m.
the alarm goes off at seven
Relax. Take your time, put the sentence together in your head, and then say it out loud.
There is no rush. Take your time.
Read the passage aloud.
Read the passage out loud.
Can you read the passage for us?
I’m sorry, but I have to cancel today’s lesson. Can we reschedule for another day?
How many hours are we doing today?
How many hours are we doing today? How many hours are we scheduled for today?。
Use the sample answers as a reference, then come up with your own answer.
Use the sample answers as a guide, and then write your own answers based on your own experience.
Take a look at the sample answers, and then write your own answers about yourself.
Take a look at the sample answers, and then write your own answers based on your personal experience.
Because my teaching style is very flexible, I can adjust each lesson to fit your needs and make sure you’re getting exactly what you need.
Since the lessons are highly flexible, I can tailor everything to your individual needs.
If there’s anything you’d like to focus on, just let me know. I’ll adjust the lessons to meet your needs.
I woke up with a stiff neck.
I think I slept wrong.
If that’s the case
If that’s the case, I’ll cancel today’s class.
If that’s the case, we should leave earlier.
If that’s the case, I don’t need to worry.
If that’s the case 和 In that case,它们都是非常自然、非常常用的美式英语。
通常说 make some adjustments,复数更自然。
make some adjustments 表示“做一些调整”,因为 some 往往暗示不止一项调整。
We need to make some adjustments to the schedule.
I can make some adjustments based on your needs.
We need to make an adjustment to the price.
make some adjustments to something
If you have any ideas or suggestions, let me know.
If you have any thoughts or suggestions, let me know.
If there’s anything you’d like to change, just let me know.
Feel free to let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions.
If you have any ideas or suggestions, let me know, and I’ll make some adjustments.
In our next class, we’ll do a mock interview. I’ll be the interviewer, and you’ll be the candidate. I’ll ask you some common interview questions, and you’ll answer them as if you were in a real job interview.
You can use the sample answers as a reference and then write your own answers based on your actual experience and circumstances. Practice answering the questions with your own responses and try to become familiar with them.
You can use the sample answers as a reference and write your own answers based on your personal background, experience, and real-life situations.
You can use the sample answers as a reference, but make sure your answers are based on your own personal background and experience.
I realized that this is what you’re most concerned about.
From what you’ve shared with me, I realized that this is what you’re most concerned about.
I noticed that this seems to be your biggest concern.
It seems like this is your biggest concern.
From the information you sent me, I noticed that this seems to be your biggest concern, so that’s what we’ll focus on today.
I slept wrong last night and woke up with a stiff neck this morning.
I think I slept on my neck wrong.
I think I slept funny.
I must’ve slept in a weird position.
I woke up with a crick in my neck.
I think I slept funny.
I woke up with a stiff neck this morning.
Today we’re going to practice speaking English.
Today we’re going to practice having conversations in English.
Today we’re just going to practice speaking English.
Let’s just chat in English today.
How about we do an hour today?(最自然、最口语) 我们今天上一小时怎么样?
How about doing an hour today?
Should we just do an hour today?
Do you want to do an hour today?
Let’s do an hour today.
Why don’t we do an hour today?
How about we do an hour today?
Should we just do an hour today?
How many hours are we doing today?
How long do you want to have class today?
How long do you want to go today?
I’m having a fever
I have a fever.
I’m running a fever.
I’ve got a fever.
I have a slight fever today.
I’m running a bit of a fever today.
这里通常不用 have a fever 的进行时,因为 have 表示身体状态时一般不说 I’m having。
I’m having a fever
I have a fever.
I’m running a fever.
I’ve got a fever.
I have a slight fever today.
I’m running a bit of a fever today.
这里通常不用 have a fever 的进行时,因为 have 表示身体状态时一般不说 I’m having。
There was a time when I really hated English.
For a while, I really hated English.
I went through a phase where I really hated English.
At one point, I really couldn’t stand English.
There was a time when I really hated English.
For a while, I really hated English.
There was a time when… 比较像讲故事、回忆经历;For a while…
She’s bad by nature.
She’s evil by nature.
She’s rotten to the core.
She’s evil deep down.
She’s inherently bad.
She’s inherently evil.
She’s a bad person.
She’s bad by nature.
She’s rotten to the core.
She’s inherently bad.
Don’t cut in line.
Hey, don’t cut in line.
Excuse me, there’s a line.
Excuse me, the line starts back there.
You just cut in line.
You can’t cut in line.
No cutting in line.
美式:Don’t cut in line.
英式:Don’t jump the queue. / Don’t push in.
Let’s finish off the exercise we started in our last class.
I’m afraid to drive. I’m afraid to talk to her. I’m afraid to ask him.
Don’t flatter me like that. It’ll go to my head.
