Feeling Left Out
Sophie: Hey, you’ve been pretty quiet today. Is something bothering you?
Mia: Yeah, I found out that some of our friends went to the movies without me yesterday.
Sophie: Really? I didn’t know about that. Did they invite you?
Mia: No, and that’s what hurts. They didn’t even mention it to me.
Sophie: Maybe they thought you were busy. Have you talked to them about it?
Mia: Not yet. I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining.
Sophie: I get that, but it’s okay to tell your friends how you feel.
Mia: I know. It’s just that this isn’t the first time they’ve left me out.
Sophie: Oh, I didn’t realize that. No wonder you’re upset.
Mia: Sometimes I feel like I’m not really part of the group anymore.
Sophie: I’m sorry you feel that way. Maybe you should talk to them and see what’s going on.
Mia: Yeah, I think I will. I just hope they understand why I’m hurt.
