Pressure from Parents

Alex: My parents have been putting a lot of pressure on me lately.
Ryan: Really? What happened?
Alex: They keep telling me to study harder, even when I’m already doing my best.
Ryan: I know how you feel. My parents are always telling me to get off my phone.
Alex: Same here. Sometimes I feel like they don’t trust me at all.
Ryan: Yeah, and whenever I try to explain myself, they think I’m arguing with them.
Alex: Exactly! I just want them to listen to me for once.
Ryan: Have you ever tried telling them how you really feel?
Alex: I have, but they always turn the conversation back to my grades.
Ryan: That’s frustrating. I wish our parents understood how stressful school can be.
Alex: I know they care about us, but I wish they’d give us a little more freedom.
Ryan: Me too. We’re getting older, and we need to make some decisions for ourselves.
