A New Friend
When Jason joined a new school, he did not know anyone in his class. During lunch, he usually sat alone and watched other students talk with their friends. He wanted to meet new people, but he was too nervous to start a conversation.
One day, Jason noticed a boy named Alex playing a card game with two classmates. Jason knew the game well, so he stopped to watch. Alex looked up and asked, “Do you want to play with us?” Jason smiled and joined them.
They played several games and talked about their favorite video games and sports. They soon realized that they liked many of the same things. After that day, Jason and Alex often ate lunch and played games together.
