A: How was your day today?
B: Pretty good. How about yours?
A: Not bad. I just finished my online English class.
B: Nice. You’ve been working really hard on your English.
A: Yeah, I’m trying. What did you have for lunch?
B: I ordered some food. I had sliced chicken with mayonnaise and some spicy sauce.
A: Oh, I can’t really eat spicy food. A lot of people in Hainan don’t eat much spicy food either.
B: That’s okay. By the way, I also really like sourdough bread. Do you know what that is?
A: Yeah, I do. I really like it too. For lunch, I had some lamb and tofu that my grandma made.
B: Oh, nice. How was it?
A: It was really good. The lamb was really flavorful, and I love tofu.
B: That sounds good. Homemade food is always nice.
Having Kids
A: Do you want to have kids in the future?
B: Yeah, I do. I’d like to have a lovely wife and two kids someday—a boy and a girl. I especially want a daughter.
A: But you know, a lot of young women in China don’t want to have children because they think giving birth can be risky.
B: Yeah, I’ve heard about that. What about you? Do you want kids?
A: I’m not really sure. I think I’ll have to see what my life is like when I’m older. Maybe I’ll change my mind.
B: So, if you didn’t have to worry about the risks of giving birth, would you want to have kids?
A: Hmm, I’m still not sure.
B: That’s fair. It’s a big decision.
A: Yeah. I think it depends on a lot of things.
B: I agree. There’s no need to decide now.
A: Exactly. I still have plenty of time to think about it.
B: Yeah, your feelings might change as you get older.
