A Blackout
It was a normal day. Suddenly, all the lights went out — it was a blackout. Sam looked out his window and saw that the whole street was dark. He went to get some candles and lit them. The blackout lasted for several hours.
He had some homework due the next day, and he had to finish it that night. He used the candlelight to write. His parents found some flashlights to help. The blackout wasn’t so bad after all. Sam got to see what life was like without electricity, and he finished his homework much faster than he would have with all the distractions of technology.
